Tariffs can they save our jobs and our way of life?

September 22, 2010

Could tariffs be the only way to rebuild our manufacturing base?

One of the major early actions of Congress was the passage of the Tariff Act of 1789, which was designed to: raise revenues for the new government by placing a tariff on the importation of foreign goods (averaging more than 8 percent) To encourage domestic production in such industries as glass and pottery by taxing the importation of those products from foreign sources. This gave American manufactures   an advantage over foreign manufactures.

Tariffs are constitutional. Tariffs were used by the founders to raise money to operate the federal government. And was at one time their only means of support. Tariffs protect Americans way of life and enabled small business to compete with the likes of now day’s Wal mart . This advantage in turn creates industries that all Americans can enjoy. Tariffs create jobs.  Isn’t that what we all want?

American manufactures to be able to compete with foreign competition?

Now we have law makers and Americans that think that tariffs are evil.  Tariffs raise prices. Tariffs may raise prices. that is true. The advantage is that Americans are working and not in the unemployment lines. I think Americans could take a little increase in prices if it meant they were working and rebuilding industry.

Why should the profits of American companies that take advantage of slave labor and encourage the oppression of the people in said countries?  Be protected when the American people are being hung out to dry?

These countries that we call our trading partners.  Most (if not all) live in slavery and oppression. The Workers live in filth with no hope of a better life for themselves or their families’.

Is this? The vision that our federal government, and so called American companies have for the American people?

Americans have inherently wanted a better life of themselves. Why wouldn’t a free people seek a better life?

Why would an American want America to become like China? Or one of the many countries our ancestors fled to become Americans?

It is past time to stop trying to save the world. We as Americans need to put ourselves first for once. And think about our own country, our jobs, and our way of life!

Bring back tariffs so Americans can compete with foreign companies once more! or plan to become like our trading partners enslaved and oppressed.

Will the American people be fooled again?

February 17, 2010

Are the DNC and the RNC  running a game on the American people ? are grassroots groups  buying it ?  Will  their deception  secede?

More and more incumbents both democrats and republicans are not seeking reelection. and very cunningly  waiting until the last minute to says so.

Why ?

Could it be that most people don’t know ? That if no candidate in either partly, has the number of signatures needed for the primary, then the RNC and the DNC , Can hand pick the candidates?  Leaving the people of that state little choice, but to vote for the parties poster child. Not the choice of the people of the state.

Could 2010 be a failed attempt by the American people to regain control of it’s government ? Are politicians that dirty?

By hand picking the candidates the DNC and the RNC  are insured that their agenda is followed and  that the people that get on the ballet are DNC and RNC choices not the people of the states.

With the take over of the grassroots movement by the Republican party. and Now Evan Bayh joining the vote them all out team. One wonders ?Are the people of the United States smart enough to see what is going on? are they powerful enough to stop the government in its tracks ? Only time will tell.

“History is Written By the Victors “

“History is Written By the Victors “
Haiti is largely the product of American policies and an American-led development model.
Here are a few fact that most of us do not know about, because We have been led by our government or media. Telling us a different story. Then Haiti’s people themselves might tell.
First of all, take a swift glance at the historical and cultural background of the Haitian people. In order to fully understand present and actual conditions. It is important to be familiar with the fact that the Haitian people have a glorious history behind them.
Haiti was the first of the American Republics, after the United States, to gain its independence. The story of the war for Haiti’s independence is one of the most thrilling chapters in the history of the world. If you read only what alien historians have written, You gain the idea that the Haitian struggle was nothing more than the massacre of outnumbered whites by hordes of semi-savage blacks.
There were massacres and savageness, but it was on both sides. The war itself was one which suffers very little in greatness when compared with the American Revolution. There were times when the French troops and the Haitian troops engaged, a total of more than 80,000 men. The French troops were the best that Napoleon could send and the Haitian troops were not a band of lawless guerrillas, but were well drilled and well officered. There were battles in which these troops force the respect of the French for their Courage and boldness in battle, and their commanders, for their military ability and courage.
It should also be kept in mind that the Haitian people were fighting for Liberty from oppression. Something we as Americans also fought for.
January 1st, 1804 is when Haiti declared its independence. Haiti remained Independent until The U.S. marines occupied Haiti from 1915 to 1934.
In 1919 well occupied, Haitian Charlemagne Péralte had organized more than a thousand cacos, or armed guerrillas, to militarily oppose the marine occupation. U.S. marines responded to the resistance with a counterinsurgency campaign that raided villages, killed thousands of Haitians, and destroyed the livelihoods of even more. American organizations such as the NAACP opposed the U.S. occupation of Haiti. Haiti also became a member of the World Bank in 1953
From 1957-1971 Haitians lived under the dark shadow of “Papa Doc” Duvalier, a brutal dictator who enjoyed World bank and U.S. backing. After his death, Duvalier’s son, Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” became President-for-life at the age of 19 and he ruled Haiti until he was finally overthrown in 1986.
In the 1970s and 1980s that Baby Doc and the American planners inside and outside the U.S. government upon seeing and helping to cause the entrenched poverty of the Haitian masses decided be used the situation to force them into low-paying jobs the U.S. government initiated their plan to transform Haiti into the “Taiwan of the Caribbean..” This small, poor country situated conveniently close to the United States was instructed to abandon its agricultural past and develop a robust, export-oriented manufacturing sector, , Duvalier and his allies were told, was the way toward modernization.
The U.S increased their practice of dumping surplus agricultural products from the U.S. on the Haitian people. This “aid” from the Americans, along with the structural changes in the countryside forced farmers to migrate to the cities, especially Port-au-Prince where the new manufacturing jobs were supposed to be. However, when they got there they found there weren’t nearly enough manufacturing jobs to go around. to meet the housing needs of the displaced farmers, quickly and cheaply constructed housing were put up, sometimes placing houses right “on top of each other.” So when you see the destruction now know that it was the homes of displaced farmers. you now know that the U.S., World bank and our business men are the same entity’s that built them.
The United States government, World bank, and business community worked together to put Haiti and Haiti’s capitol city on track to become what it was on January 12, 2010

So now that I have only touch on U.S. involvement in Haiti and Haitian history.

I ask again what are U.S. intentions in Haiti? and why am I hearing of earth quake weapons? military action ? and Now selective feeding of the poor in Haiti ? Is there any truth to these question’s ? Since all that our media and government have told us about Haiti is a lie?
What is really happening in Haiti? and shouldn’t we be asking these question’s ???

Another assault on Posse Comitatus

One blogger writes

Quietly—even stealthily—in the opening days of the New Year, President Barack Obama has set up a

“Council of Governors”.
Like the 30-plus czars running America with neither the people’s nor the congress’s blessings,

the Council of Governors is already a done deal.

_____________________________________________________

White House Office of the Press Secretary released a report on the White House web site titled “President Obama Signs Executive Order Establishing Council of Governors.

On Jan 11, 2010  to strengthen further the partnership between the Federal
Government and State Governments.

When appointed, the Council will be reviewing such matters as
involving the National Guard of the various States;

homeland defense, civil support, synchronization and integration of

State and Federal military
activities in the United States, and other matters of mutual interest
pertaining to National Guard, homeland defense, and civil support
activities.

The Council will be composed of “ten State Governors who will be selected by the President to serve two-year terms .  Once chosen, the Council will have no more than five members from the same party and represent the Nation as a whole.”

The press release also states that Federal members of the Council include
the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of Homeland Security, the Assistant
to the President for Homeland Security and Counter terrorism, the Assistant
to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement, the
Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Americas’ Security
Affairs, the U.S. Northern Command Commander, the Commandant of the Coast Guard, and the civil support activities. The Secretary of Defense will appoint an Executive Director for the Council.

Presidential Directives or Executive Orders that have the potential to steal our liberties and expand federal  power over us

Even international police powers.

Like executive order 12425 amendment sign by President Obama giving greater protection to Interpol  freedom to investigate Americans and tying the hands of  US law enforcement , Giving away our power to know what? These NON US Law enforcement bodies are doing in our country?

The mainstream media  fails to tell the Americans  about what is going on .

(So a grandma like me has to tell you)

It is a sad statement about the media.

That  is what is happening with Obama’s  EO establishing a Council of Governors (COG).

As with any expansion of the federal government. The new Council of Governors needs to be watched  very carefully by freedom loving Americans.

As it seems to be another assault on Posse Comitatus, the  law that bars the military from exercising domestic police powers.

As are most government powers, there is always the potential for abuse.

In this case, there is cause for serious concern because every bit of this is expanding traditional Command in Chief powers to the DOD

[Department of Defense], spreading troops around the US.

When writing this  blog. I realized that  these troops could be potentially not be  American troops.

It reminded me of a rumor I had heard more than once on internet talk shows and other  internet sources .

The rumors that has spread around the internet was about

The United States Northern Command, deputy commander

H Steven Blum.

(National guard)

Was rumored to have requested  Russia  assistants with policing US citizens with in the US.  In the near future. In the event that something?

like say aaaa

Haiti’s  happens here in America ?.

One must ask with all these Executive orders Mr. Obama has sighed

Is there viability to theses rumors?

and not just crazy internet stuff?
